37th annual award writing competition “Akegarasu Haya”

Abdelhamid Ibn Badis University, Mostaganem, is pleased to announce the launch of the :

37th “Akegarasu Haya” writing competition.

It should be mentioned that “Akegarasu Haya” (1877-1945) is one of the most famous thinkers of modern Japan. He was born in the town of Hakusan (in the area formerly known as Matta City), Ishkawa Prefecture, Japan. His wide reading of books from all over the world, especially on the subjects of art and philosophy, has earned him a reputation as a very erudite man. His work on philosophy had a great influence on the spiritual culture of Japan in the first half of the 20th century.

The city of Hakusan created the “Akegarasu Haya Award” to honour its outstanding achievements, while aiming to foster in today’s youth the same appreciation of their own cultural traditions, keeping in mind that these young people will be the world leaders of tomorrow

Recognising the importance of all the different cultures of the world, the organisations of this award will accept essays from Japan and from abroad.
