The library of the Faculty of Medicine at Université Abdelhamid Ibn Badis de Mostaganem was established under Executive Decree No. 12-360 dated 22 Dhu al-Qa‘da 1433, corresponding to October 8, 2012, which coincides with the founding date of the faculty. It contributes to supporting scientific research by providing diverse information resources aligned with the academic programs across all medical and pharmaceutical disciplines, making it one of the main research spaces within the faculty.
The library holds a diverse documentary collection totaling 15,386 copies (as of 2026), including books, encyclopedias, atlases, dictionaries, guides, journals, conference proceedings, and theses, mainly in French and English, in line with current educational trends aimed at strengthening the use of the English language.
The library consists of a ground floor that includes two reading rooms, a lending desk, and a hall where scientific club activities are organized.
The first floor includes two consultation rooms with open-shelf access, allowing students to explore the available collection, in addition to a reading room and the director’s office.
All library rooms are equipped with Internet access to facilitate research through various options. The library also provides digital books in PDF format available on computers, totaling 317 titles.
The number of registered users for the 2025/2026 academic year is حوالي 1,888 students and faculty members. The library is also open to researchers from various disciplines (speech therapy, paramedical fields, psychology, sports sciences, natural and life sciences, and medical doctors) to benefit from its documentary resources.
