Faculty Presentation – Introduction to the Faculty of Medicine

The Faculty of Medicine of Mostaganem is a higher education institution responsible for training future doctors and health professionals. It is one of the 10 entities that make up the Université Abdelhamid Ibn Badis – Mostaganem, according to Executive Decree No. 12-360 of 22 Dhou El Kaada 1433 (October 8, 2012), complementing Executive Decree No. 98-220 of 13 Rabie El Aouel 1419 (July 7, 1998) establishing the University of Mostaganem.

The faculty welcomed its first class of high school graduates in the 2012-2013 academic year and was inaugurated at the Kharrouba campus in 2013-2014. It provides both theoretical teaching and practical clinical training, in partnership with hospital structures of the Mostaganem Directorate of Health and Population.

Its current capacity is 4,000 educational seats, and it includes:

• 03 lecture halls of 500 seats

• 03 lecture halls of 250 seats

• 03 lecture halls of 150 seats

• 25 classrooms and tutorial rooms

• 20 educational laboratories

• 01 simulation center

• 01 ECOS center

• 01 library with five large reading rooms and a resident reading room, holding over 15,400 books for medical and pharmacy students

• 01 conference room with 200 seats equipped with a reception area

Academically, the Dean is assisted by two deputies: one responsible for undergraduate studies and student affairs, and the other for postgraduate studies, scientific research, and external relations.

Departments are headed by a Department Chair assisted by two deputies, one for undergraduate programs and one for postgraduate programs.

Administratively, the faculty has a General Secretariat and several services (finance, general resources, personnel).
