Head of the Department of Medicine

Executive Decree No. 03-279 of 24 Joumada Ethania 1424 (August 23, 2003) defining the missions and specific rules for the organization and functioning of universities.

Article 56:
The Head of Department is responsible for the pedagogical and administrative functioning of the department and exercises hierarchical authority over the staff under their responsibility.

They are assisted by deputy heads of department, heads of services, and, where applicable, heads of laboratories.

The Head of Department is appointed for a three (3) year term from among permanent faculty members holding the highest academic rank, by decision of the Minister in charge of Higher Education and Scientific Research, upon proposal of the Dean and after consultation with the Rector.
